Introduction – A Beginner’s Goals and First Catches

Hi, I’m Rina. I slowly started fishing after I started living in Australia in 2020, but I’m still a beginner angler and all I caught in these 4 years are:

  • Tarwine
  • Herring
  • Tailor
  • Wrasse
  • Squid
  • Flathead

And some other random fish that I don’t even know the name of.

The goal of this blog is for me to be a skilled angler, who can successfully catch fish with lures and who can understand the better tide, moon phase, and all the information for catching specific fish.

My current goal is to catch my first Pink Snapper on bait (or lures) and more flathead using lures. Ultimate goal of mine is to catch Yellowtail Kingfish.

I’ll be posting about my new lures, rigs, or other fishing gear as well as about fish I catch with these setups. It will mostly be for me to remember my catches and the conditions they were made under for future reference.

Any advice from more experienced anglers is always welcome!

Flathead caught with lure and this was my very first catch with lure!

    Hey Rina,
Nice work, we certainly need some tips, living on a boat I thought we would catch a lot more fish than the 0 we have caught up the Western Australian Coastline, lol
Keep up the good work and we need tips!!!

Thank you for your comment, Kym!
You live on a boat? That’s amazing! 🥰
I’ll try to post as much as I can. Let’s grow as anglers together since I’m still pretty new at this too!
